The Institute runs four state-of-the-art laboratories accredited by Polish Centre for Accreditation. The scope of their work is among the widest in Poland and includes: radio, EMC, operational safety and healthcare testing; calibration of measurement appliances within the scope of electric, optoelectronic, time and frequency quantities and also quantities applied by radio interference measurements; conducting conformity assessments (CE). NIT conducts also interlaboratory comparisons.
The purpose of the project is the development of novel mechanisms for wireless networks self-organization. Those mechanism are expected to be the background for an infrastructure that would provide fast data transmission between ships, between ships and data storage / processing centers, between ships and the Internet.
The aim of the project is to develop and manufacture an innovative single-chip secure processor – IDSoC. The developed system on chip will be composed of a proprietary application processor with an increased fault tolerance and security level.
The project launches the development of a technical system that allows for safe ship navigation when the established Global Navigation Satellite Systems fail due to interference or jamming. The partners test broadcast signals transmitted via radio beacons and other existing infrastructure. This serves to develop prototypes for ranging mode transmitters and receivers.
The 5th Management Committee Meeting and 4th Annual Conference of the COST Action MP1401 "Advanced fibre laser and coherent source as tools for society, manufacturing and lifescience, AFLASER" will be held at the National Institute of Telecommunications in Warsaw, Poland on 24-26 October 2018.
The National Institute of Telecommunications is making available the first complete Polish version of latest ITU Radio Regulations originally published in October 2016. Polish text was prepared and verified by NIT and Ministry of Digital Affairs experts.
